[Pic] Important: An Excel Graph S.African Crime exercise
Date Posted: Saturday 21-Oct-2006Folks, thanks to Martin, I got a copy of Die, The Beloved Country - written by a Mr Peron who writes regularly for The New York Times. Not many copies are left, but you can order them through the AfricanCrisis bookshop. They are EXCELLENT. It is said that the ANC was removing this book from bookshelves across S.Africa because it was so nasty.
Peron was an American and a worldwide known Libertarian. He came to live in S.Africa because he was so amazed by 1994 and he thought the future would be AWESOME. But in 1998, he wrote this devastating book, and he later left the country.
But in this book, I spotted this amazing catalogue of crime statistics going back to the mid-1970's. I've never seen such a comprehensive set of statistics before from S.Africa.
I would like to ask someone who knows EXCEL, to do a little exercise for me please. Can you construct some line/bar graphs for me - ESPECIALLY of the murder column. Though I would preferably like a graph of each. It means some typing into EXCEL and then using the graph drawing function there.
Here are the two pages you can use from Die, The Beloved Country.
Let me explain: If someone will draw the graphs for me and email them to me, I want to annotate them with important political events, because I think I see a most interesting trend in the figures which I must show to everybody. It will be much easier to see in graph form.
If anyone does this, then please mail the EXCEL spreadsheet to me at: Jan@Webs.co.za
Thanks, Jan]

Hi Alfred,
But you're proving my point. Crime started the moment the ANC started its UPRISING, which began in 1982. I've pointed out before that you can trace the rise of crime TO THE RISE OF THE ANC. THERE IS A DIRECT PARALLEL BETWEEN THE INCREASE OF THE ANC'S INFLUENCE IN THIS COUNTRY AND CRIME (AND OF COURSE ALSO CORRUPTION).
Take a look at this graph I put up, which goes back quite a way:-

I put up a stack of graphs and an analysis of them here:-
[9 Graphs] How Nelson Mandela brought Crime & Murder to South Africa
If anyone black person out there is truly honest with himself and he goes and studies history, he will see very clearly, that the ANC brought crime and lawlessness to this country.
And now the ANC is busy protecting CORRUPTION GOVT OFFICIALS. Just yesterday, the GOVT - THE GOVT ITSELF - "bought the debt book" of those who STOLE MONEY FROM GOVT - the MP's who SWINDLED PARLIAMENT IN THE MASSIVE TRAVELGATE SCANDAL. The Govt "bought the debt book" of its own criminal MPs.
WHY?
Because Govt is going to use tax payer money to hide this... in short, the GOVT will LEGALISE THE CRIMINAL ACTIONS OF ALL THE MANY TRAVELGATE MPS.
This ANC Govt, approves of, and supports THEFT AND ABUSE OF POWER BY ITS OWN OFFICIALS.
If black people will be honest, and they look at the ANC, they'll see what the ANC has done in this country so far, and now the ANC is getting worse.
The ANC is becoming more and more like ZANU in Zim. The ANC is becoming the very thing which opponents of it always warned it would be. It is here, now.

I disagree with those who say crime started to increase when democracy started in 1994 with Mandela becoming the first black president.Actually crime increased in the late 80s when Botha was in charge, that was the time of riots and unrest with police and soldiers deployed in townships to crush resistance. We can not rely heavily on crime statistcs of that time simply because the state of emergency imposed by Botha made it legal for police and soldiers to brutally attack black people who were suspected to be involved in the protests and unrests of that time.
