Today is Rhodesian Independence day... remember 11th November 1965...

Date Posted: Wednesday 11-Nov-2009

I thought, in the light of Robert Mugabe's unending fear of the rise of Rhodesia from the ashes of his rotten Zimbabwe, that I'd remind everyone this is also 11th November. On this day in 1965, 44 years ago, Ian Smith rebelled against the British Empire in the same way the Americans did in 1776. Rhodesia was the only British Colony to rebel against Britain since the Americans in 1776 (to my knowledge).

On this day, Ian Smith mentioned that his motivation was to fight COMMUNISM.

Today, 44 years later, Robert Mugabe, the ultimate communist dictator stands over the ruins of Zimbabwe, which once was great. Robert Mugabe stands for everything and every reason why Ian Smith rebelled. Ian Smith did not believe that communism would help white or black people in that country... AND 44 YEARS LATER IN 2009... on 11th November... I CAN SAY: IAN SMITH WAS COMPLETELY RIGHT.

Absolutely Jan,

I got to work yesterday and told everyone it was the anniversary of UDI. Ian Smith was a hero and probably the last white patriot in Africa. He achieved in a very short space of time which no politician before or since has come close to achieving. He bettered the life of all Rhodesians - black and white. A man who truly had the best interests of the Rhodesian people at heart. Drove himself to work in his beat up old renault or "pudge". A MAN amongst MEN.

As the song goes: "We will stand tall in the sunshine with truth on our side, and if we have to go alone, we'll go alone with pride."

We did, and we did make a go of it. Unfortunately 300K whites cannot take on the entire western liberal and communist world... But, we did have a go at it.

I am proud to be a Rhodesian and absolutely HATE the fact that the SA regime now changes the Rhodesia in my passport to Zimbabwe (even after going back three times to tell them I was NOT born in Zimbabwe.
