Police fear a muti murderer is behind the gruesome killing of a toddler whose headless body was found on a rubbish dump near Khayelitsha.

The body of the girl, estimated to be about three years old, was found on the Swartklip refuse site last week.

A Lingelethu police officer said the girl's identity was not known but that police were checking their missing persons records.

The officer could not say whether the girl had been killed where her body was found.

However, he said investigators feared it could a muti murder. - Crime Writer
