South Africa: 'Winnie made me sing during brutal assaults'
Date Posted: Sunday 19-Jul-2009A former friend and now confessed enemy of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela told the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) on Wednesday that the ANC Women's League president instructed her to sing loudly while four teenage activists were assaulted at her home in Orlando West, Soweto.
Xoliswa Falati said: "Madikizela-Mandela told me to sing loudly to drown the voices of those being brutally assaulted."
She was testifying in the amnesty application of Jerry Richardson, former coach of the Mandela United football club, in Mayfair, Johannesburg.
Richardson is seeking amnesty for the murder and abduction of Stompie Seipei, Lolo Sono, Koekie Zwane and Anthony Tshabalala, and the attempted murder of Lerothodi Ikaneng in 1988.

My all time favourite movie quote is from the Dwarf in Lord of the Rings: "Certainty of death, small chance of success... what are we waiting for?"
