[This is the original farm murders page which I created on the first incarnation of AfricanCrisis. I have converted it to reside on the new website. I have copied this across in April 2009 as part of my conversion program. I last updated this only in 2007. I have not done any new updates since even though farm murders continue and the last I heard from Adriana Stuijt was that the figure is now over 3,000. In the future, I will look at revisiting this page and seeing how we can update or enhance it. I expect, with the election of the ANC in 2009, that the focus will return to so-called "Land reform" and I do expect us to see more nasty things happening on our farms as the ANC now starts to follow in Robert Mugabe's footsteps and drives white farmers more aggressively off their land using legal or other methods. While these photos are disturbing and graphic, the honest truth is that this type of thing happens every day in the USA and many other countries as well. Just as brutal, just as pointless, just as angry. There is no real difference other than geography. Blacks and whites will always be at odds on some level.

We are not a biased family. We are white, but have relationships with any and all race we choose. However, we do feel slighted when my daughter is not chosen for a scholarship, even tho her scores were well over those required, but she is left out to allow a minority to receive the award. Should the awards not go to the best suited students based on academic quality?

We do not have a white history month, or a white Miss America. We do not have white scholarship programs. There are many other minority groups who are allowed these benefits. Even tho, as another mentioned above, no one in any living generation ever owned slaves in the USA.

If we are going to go 'equal' freedoms, we should not segregate in any fashion at all. Nothing that will leave any resentment should be left if we are to truly succeed in ending prejudice and bias behavior or teachings. Do not ask for equality and desegregation, then require segregation on special awards, contests, clubs and/or benefits.

It will never end until it all ends. We can not separate ourselves from another group and then expect not to be looked upon as different.

PEOPLE kill people. White. black, Indian, Asian, Hispanic.. for whatever reason be it hate, bias, or whatever. It happens everywhere every day. Just because the pics are not posted and portrayed to show the happenings of one set of misguided beliefs, does not make them any less important or tragic.

This article is a shocking reminder of the worst humanity has to offer, and I use the word humanity very loosely.

I was born and raised in KZN and was a "closet" racist as is most of South Africa I assume. A few friends said the racism was indoctrinated in me, while my other friends agreed with me.

I immigrated to the UK because I had given up on South Africa, I was looking to raise a family and South Africa was not the place to do it. After a while in the UK I couldn't understand why I was racist in South Africa, everyone I met in the UK were people, they just happen to have a different colour skin like a lightyly tanned and a darkly tanned person, that was the difference between black and white. We came back to South Africa after 7 years, I have been here for 3 months now. What's the difference between a tourist and a racist, it's less than 3 months, a lot less.

I take no issue with the indian, coloured or white communities, none of them as a whole are perfect and there a few bad apples in each bunch as you would expect. Looking at the black community, there are only a few good apples in a pile of millions of bad ones.

I don't know what the problem is, I now work in an industry with a lot of blacks, and I'm changing industry very soon. They seem to have no moral compass even to their own. We had to go fetch one of our cleaners from the township the other week and take her to hospital because her husband came home drunk, shoved a glass coke bottle up her anus and beat it with a cricket bat until the bottle shattered. If you can tell me one of Gods creatures that will do that to another living thing, you win a big prize. Believe me, that is not the only example I have, one black kid killing another because of R2 etc.

The value on human life and the care or concern given for harming another just does not exist to them.

I can start to generalize now because 99% of all blacks I have dealt with in SA fall in the same category of near evil. I have fired so many blacks at work in just 3 months, for drinking and crashing company vehicles, killing game, fighting and the list goes on. It's like trying to manage a troup of drunk monkeys. I have had my fair share of threats on my life for firing them as well, a few have even tried to execute the plan (the main reason for me getting my family out of the industry).

I am not an apartheid child, by the time I understood what apartheid was the blacks were in power (and had to sit through black students who had FA to do with apartheid, toitoi throughout my legal lectures at university, I kid you not).

Now I get to thinking, if they don't value human life as the rest of us do, they are not willing to abide by the same rules we are, if they tend towards living like animals, then perhaps the rest of us should do to them what we would do to animals. Separate them from us. Australia had it right with the Abos (don't let the movie Australia fool you, they battle with their indigenous as much as we battle with ours)

Also since you mentioned the schools here removing discussion of the holocaust - I wanted to say that I don't recall ever learning of it from school & even a few years ago, riding the city bus, some high school students who also rode the bus every day saw me reading a small paperback about WW2 and asked after it. They had never even heard of WW2 or hitler or the holocaust. I was so appalled I handed the book over to them, a gift.

A few weeks ago, reading my local paper, I saw announced that the state of Mississippi is introducing legislation that would require schools to teach the history of the "civil rights movement" in America detailing the struggle of black americans to gain "rights" AND to teach such a course in EVERY GRADE - Kindergarten through 12th. Which to me indicates the desire for some kind of chronic continuing and probably one sided teaching and brainwashing white american students to create more control of the public through "white guilt syndrome" perpetrated on people who weren't even born when all this happened. Forget our founding fathers, our fight for independence, or the fact that they are free and have every resource and education available to them, inculding millions of dollars on college scholarships designated only for blacks, whether poor white students have better grades or college entrance exam scores, and just only focus on "bad things" that YOU white people did to us, and keep paying and paying for it every day. None of my ancestors owned slaves, even though they immigrated to the U.S. while slavery was still in effect, but somehow I am still to blame.

I always wondered how South Africa changed so quickly from a so called white police state into a so called tolerant multi-cultural society.

Assuming briefly all the terrible stories about what whites did to blacks ae true, then for twisted vengeance alone this hideous account of violent war against isolated white farmers rings true.

What is shocking is that they are ignored by the media, by the international courts, void of all human rights and protection.

I never thought I would find useful educational information on extreme right sites, but I have been, and these stories deserve a far wider audience. You are brave and doing a good service for humanity.

I hear what you say but if you think that stopping racist slurs will make a positive difference you still have to wake up in this country.
Nothing matters for the blacks but the fact that we are white and that they want to kill and that they can get away with it.
To see photos like this can only open some eyes that are even more closed than yours and save a life or two. That weighs more heavy than that blacks may feel more hate for us if we vent our feelings. In fact, it make no difference and the sooner you realise that the safer you will be.

I am not shocked to read about this as there are thousands of murders each year no thanks to the ***** of this country! Some you never even hear of because people go missing and they are never found etc... I am surprised to see the great lengths those animals are prepared to go to just for hatred and a little fun of seeing white people suffer while they rob them blind for goods that can only be sold for so much - BUT ON TO THE NEXT VICTIM I SUPPOSE ...

Ever heard of trying to find a job hell no they to lazy for that because they rule the country now and stealing and killing is waaaaaay more exciting then getting their hands dirty (excuse the pun).

I never used to be racist but lately I can't seem to think of any reason why I should think of them as human beings because that’s not what they are. Yes you get people saying that not all of them are like that but would that hand full that is "not like that" come forward when the s#@* hits the fan and stand up for the whites - um lets think for a sec answer is simple and everyone knows it!

Makes me sick to hear of so many murderers that get out of jail for what the Afrikaner would say "n apple en 'n ui". OR beta yet that never even go to jail and keep on killing. Lets not even talk about how lousy our police are my word that's a even bigger joke! Takes them to date a whole month to find a woman who was the driver of a hit and run. They got the vehicle reg, phone number, and address but what is their excuse of not going to her??? "Eish we don't have enaaff vehicles to go out and pick HIM (him being a woman actually) up". No fatty its because you so damn lazy and not interested in doing your job - you would rather sit in your office and stuff your face then worry over a crime that’s been committed.

All I have to say is bring back the death penalty - but no luck at that hey because the government will not allow the death sentence to what they call "our brothers and sisters" (mainly speaking only off their own race) so I guess its waiting it out for the AIDS virus to kick in and let them sleep peacefully. AKA TB (that’s always the excuse they use when someone dies just to hide the fact that its aids).

Anyway we can just hope that one day things will change and that people (woman and men) can walk around at night without being killed or raped etc...

Recently married, I live on a farm myself, in the Freestate, where yes, I find that there is mostely "right winged" views in my community. I grew up on a farm on the Eastern Cape border and found my community at that time, to be less "right winged" than my current one.

These pictures are absolutely horrible, and makes very thankful that an alarm system has been installed in my house just this week. There is truly nothing as horrible and sickening as man's inhumanity to man. It is hard to think that one person can do this to another. I Always tend to think of the fear that the victims must have experienced in those final hours, and how they must have begged for their lives, to no avail. It saddens me that often the old and harmless is targeted.

I hate living in what I call " a bird cage" with all the burglar bars and security doors, but it is an absolute necessity.

I never wanted to live in fear but undeniably it is a part of my daily life, whether I like it or not. Thinking of these murders is a daily event, especially when returning from friends in the evening or even from church on Sundays, constantly looking over your shoulder until you are back in the (relative) safety of your home.

I have mixed feelings about the postings of these photos. For one, I feel that it's good for the world to see what is going on in our country. I think one of the things that angers me the most is our news. I don't always feel that it is truthfull. Often (if a farm murder even makes it into the news)and things were stolen by the murderers, the cause for the attack is said to be burglary. Why then the brutal murdering and rape of the victims, why not just tie them up and take what you want?

If nothing was stolen during an attack, it is simply reported that the reason for the attack is unkown. In short, racism can only take place if a white person commits a crime against a black person, but nver the other way around. Things like the Reitz hostel video (which I definately do not condone) are constantly in the media, where as farm murders hardly makes it into the news. " Kill the boer, kill the farmer" may be shouted by some of our leaders at ANC rallies, but this is never seen as discrimination against white people?

I do however also feel that these photos might spur on hatred towards black people even more, which is definately not helping the situation in our country. It is not the way forward.

I really do like the two women that work in my house, I treat them with respect and they me too. We sometimes laugh together and it is these small things that remind me that we are all human, though looking at these pics, it sometimes hard to keep in mind.

We must however focus rather on the individual rather than a race. I find it so cute when on of our farm workers comes to buy sweets for his children, and proudly tells me of the new cot he has bought for his twins.

In all we can not say that all black people are bad, and blacks can not say that all white people are racists. I don't think anyone that is not a South African can ever trully understand the dynamics of our country, it's never black or white in the end, always different shades of grey.

This so totally shocking! I was aware of these murders, but have never actually seen pics of it, but why do they need to be so violent? So brutal? We have some seriously sick people amongst our communities...

It is sad, I don't what to die like that, what were done to those people before they met their Maker? For how long were they tortured? HECTIC!

I need to leave this country, this continent!

And it is hate crimes, those killers HATE us, white's, nooit, I'm in shock!

We need people to see what is being done to our friends and family!

My flat mate never ceases to tell me about the situation in Africa and Zimbabwe. He was forced to leave his friends behind when he was 13, most are dead now. He's been trying to get back there as soon as possible so he can try and make a difference. Although he makes racist remarks and discriminates against "blacks" often, he wants to go back and teach them how to farm and give them as close to a proper education as he can so that the country will once again be beautiful and people won't have to live in fear. I believe that this is the approach that should be taken by the "blacks" who still feel resentment towards "whites" for the Aparatheid. Retaliation is an ugly thing. My flat mate departs for Africa in December this year along with 5 of his closest friends. His girlfriend will join him in January after she has passed a course that will allow her to teach English as a second language. I'm not confident they will ever make it back to New Zealand.

I also wanted to add that the woman in the 14th photo looks as though her throat has been cut so the black liquid would be dried blood.

There are some rather disturbing racist comments made in extreem anger which come as a result of seeing such gruesome images.

I do think it is necessary to have such a graphic depictions of what has gone on, is going on in this country as blissful ignorance doesn't help anyone but I also think that it creates a platform for more racist slurs and these do not help anyone either.

I believe all these terrible acts are done through lack of education. Africa is tribal and savage. It got left behind while the rest of the world advanced in terms of technology and civilization.

Now that westerners have re-discovered Africa and recognise its beauty and resources, it is up to us to lift Africa out of its sespool of tribalistic, uneducated savage ways and lead by example. (This is not an easy task.)

Apartheid was not a very good example as it stripped people of human dignity however that is over now and we have one of the best Constitutions in the world. Apartheid lasted for 40 years and we are now 15 years into democracy.

I don't say that everything will be OK, rosy dosy in 25 years time.. However at that time no black man will be able to blame Apartheid any longer and I also feel that Black Economic Empowerment and Afirmative Action will no longer be the logical option or a viable argument .. and then we will begin to have a shot at true democracy...

At that stage there will be 40 years of educated black persons who will automatically renounce tribalism and strive for global wealth - cars, houses, infrastructure etc...

This is my hope and reasoning as a young 35 year old South African choosing to have a positive rather than negative outlook.

I have involved myself in the rehabilitation of life-skills in Soweto for the past five years. I have very little doubt that much of our violent crime and inability to curb HIV infections relate to the damage done to our communities pre-1994.
It has taken me five years to understand that in addition to our violent crime, we also have hate crime, and this is why for the first time I started to google white hate and found this website.
Believe it our not, a twenty year-old black girl, a grand-daughter of a friend, during last week commented as follows, "Grace, the youth will not come to a meeting to listen to you. The youth hate the local whites."
Five years and I never felt it.
During the next seven days I delved into every young person that would talk to me, and if I listen to them, I almost believe that a program of propaganda is being waged to discredit the whites, in the interest of keeping the vote in the black community. Pictures and video clips of June 16th 1976, the Chris Hani murder, the video clip of the police and their dogs.
The children for the age of 10 upwards absorb these images and no comment is necessary. Where this propaganda is going horribly wrong is that we have no balance for these children to be exposed to any 'white good'.
We have anomosity building up in communities without any counter-balance to prevent the hate.
I see the violent crime, where a person is shot for his/her cell phone as the shackled life-skills problem, where if I do not love or respect myself I feel nothing for you.
But where the crimes as depicted in these photo's are committed, this bubbling animosity in large portions of our young black youth, is being expressed.
Why the farmer?
It would be the closest link to the Afrikaner policeman that the propoganda ingites in them. The farms are isolated, and the perpetrator will have ample time to achieve what they set out to. Recently an academic's survey established that the farm attacks were of the same ilk as house robberies, this is far from accurate.
I have changed my direction in the Township slightly and I believe that we can turn the tide, but it needs to be a white community initiative, not the government.
Two weeks ago I was talking that South Africa will disintegrate into another Zimbabwe in 20 years, and we will not have a neighbour to feed us. This week I see the period as only being ten years.
I could fill a few books on my experience, thoeries and findings, but I need to avoid my identity being made public just at the moment.

As an indial female, i am totally disgusted by these acts of brutality. During the apartheid era, alot of ppl suffered regardless of their race. The inocent ppl are not to blame for what happened then, twas the government. Ever since a black man started ruling this country, majority of blacks feel like they are part of the damn government, doing as they please, killing, raping, etc. To burn an innocent child.......these ppl are monsters. You cannot go back and change the past, all you can do is look the future. So what if we were discriminated against back then? That was then and this is now. There is no need to kill innocent 'white ppl'.

These are extracts from research done on residential robberies and interviews with arrested/convicted robbers by Dr. Rudolph Zinn from UNISA’s School of Criminal Justice.
* House robberies have increased by 13.5% in the past year.
* Of the almost 15 000 residential robberies committed in 2008, 50% took place in Gauteng.
* Average age of a house robber is 19 - 26 years.
* Average of 30% of all house robbers have committed murder or are willing to commit murder.
* 17% of house robbers are foreigners.
* 90% of arrested robbers had no matric or were unemployed.
* The 10% who were employed gave up their jobs when confirming how much they could make from a robbery.
* Most victims/targets are affluent persons who openly display their wealth, i.e. expensive cars, jewellery, upmarket homes.
* A lot of the MO revolves around gathering intelligence about the target home and residents, i.e. inside information from domestic workers.
* 8 out of 10 residential robberies are committed with the help of information from domestic workers, gardeners and former employees.
* They will monitor the home and movements for as long as is needed to formulate a plan of attack, sometimes up to 2 weeks.
* All gangs research and monitor the response times of armed response companies.
* Most attacks occur between 19h00 and 00h00 as people are relaxed, busy cooking or watching television and the security systems and beams are not activated.
* The biggest deterrent confirmed by robbers themselves are small dogs that are kept inside the home.
* Alarm systems and armed reaction services are not a deterrent.
* Electric fences, CCTV and detection beams do however deter robbers.
* An average of R5 000 is stolen during each robbery.
* Victims of house robberies are only seriously injured in 2% of all incidents.
* 35% of robbers rob for basic needs (hunger, poverty). 65% enjoyed the money and spent it on clothes, cars, houses.
* The average robber commits 103 robberies over 7 years before being caught.
* 97% of robbers are armed.
* Most attacks takes place 10 - 30 minutes drive from the attacker’s home or base.
* Women are more often tortured or hurt during house robberies.
* On average there are 4 members in an armed robbery gang.
* Conviction rate for house robberies in South Africa is 7.67%; in the USA it is 53%.

Themba, you are correct when you say farmers are not the only victims of "your struggle", but you get totally screwed up when you say our farmers were either the promoters or defenders of Apartheid.

Productive farmers anywhere in the world should be regarded as the bedrock of any country's prosperity. Farmers are the producers of food and bring economic prosperity for tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people. Chasing farmers away will only achieve disaster and starvation for you - not freedom.

It is very unfortunate that SA shed too much blood of ordinary people who were killed as a result of political difference. Farmers happened to be part of that group that became victims of our battle for freedom.

It would be very wrong and dishonest to paint a picture depicting farmers to be the group that was mostly affected. Thousands of people lost their live. We also need to realise that those groups that were affected, it was not an accident but for a reason. They were at the forefront of the battle against apartheid either as promoters or defenders.

It is however noticeable that there are those in our society who have found an opportunity make career for themselves and make money to support their families. They achieve this by creating websites, like this one, and they distribute material that promotes hatred and violence instead of peace. These individuals hate to see SA triumphat for peace and stabilty because that brings end to their careers. The truth must be told at all times and at all cost if we are to build a prosperous nation!

It's a bloody shame to read about what the k*****s have done since taking over the "government" of SA.

I live in a small town of 7,000 on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. We have 7 doctors in town. 6 of them are from South Africa. Repeat: 6 of our town's 7 doctors are from South Africa!

On the bright side, we have almost no k*****s here.

I feel for the white people of SA. One can only hope that AIDS will continue to work its magic and finish off the jungle bunnies.

She will be less prone to encounter non-whites, the town is charming and it's not far from San Diego.

Thank you very much for creating this web page. Sean Bryson's web page about racism is one of the many web pages and one of the many web sites that I visit weekly on the subject of racism.

My 70 year old mother has constant emotional behavior problems. She has had a reputation of yelling and shouting offensive racial slurs and offensive racial remarks in public places at other people who are of a different race than her own (She is a white, German-born woman and she offends people of other skin colors and/or other ethnic nationalities).

It is frightening and scary to see my mother behaving like this in public because you never know what could happen next! In other words, you never know what the other people she just offended could do next! The people she offended could do something/do anything to her in a quick moment: beat her up, knock her to the ground, run away from the scene and leave her bleeding to death! I am not always home (to be able to put a stop to such a violent scene), because I work and have other daily errands (tasks/things to do) during the day.

Trying to find mental health help for my mother in San Diego, California has not been easy. I have been turned away from many San Diego county government funded mental health services and agencies because the people with a history of alcohol and substance abuse (drugs) use are first priority. My mother does not have an alcohol or drug problem.

Finding a licensed psychologist in private office practice has been hard, too. It is expensive ($300 per hour U.S. dollars) for therapy. And many of these psychologists are also already filled with patients that have other problems. (example: divorced people with children)

So, it often seems that I feel emotionally stuck and worried about what to do with my awfully behaving mother. When I go to many of the websites and web pages about "How to stop racism", I look for coping methods and advice from mental health counselors on-line in Great Britain (England/Scotland) whom have knowledge about what to do. Viewing the photographs of white people whom have been murdered by someone of another racial/ethnicity helps me to understand what can happen in the end result when racism and violent attacks occur. Sean Bryson's web page on racism is certainly one of the very helpful websites.

I am also a regular visitor on the BNP (British National Party) website, "Racism Cuts Both Ways".
This website also helps me to understand and educate me what can happen when whites end up being attacked by other races (blacks, muslims, asians, etc.,) The white victims' stories is a very realistic situation
and helps me face reality. (of what could possibly happen to my mother, just like what happened to the almost 200 white murder victims on the "Racism Cuts Both Ways" website at British National Party)

I also visit some British websites that show people in a hospital bed attatched to life support/life line machines. Some victims of racial attacks and abuse find themselves lay in bed for many days or many weeks fighting to stay alive, after getting into a physical fight and being punched/hit/kicked in the head and knocked out unconscious with internal brain bleeding.

The photographs of the white racial attack victims are heartbreaking and in some cases, can become not only emotionally complicated, but also financially costly.
Some health insurance companies won't pay for life support/life line costs. In other circumstances and situations, the legal costs (attorney fees for criminal trial cases, if the attacker is caught), the medical/hospital costs and the funeral services costs (if the victim dies) in the United States of America can total $100,000 or more, especially if the whole situation continues to go on for months! I learned that some people couldn't afford the large costs amounts and had to sell their home, the car(s), the furniture and other personal possessions just to get the money together to pay for the overwhelming costs!

I have learned that spending my time on many of these websites related to the consequences of racism and how to stop the racial abuse, especially when you see a relative (or family friend) yelling and screaming at other racial ethnicities in public spots, has helped me cope with the problem itself, while I still continue to look for help for my mother.

I just got this note from a lovely white woman I know. She sent me this (Beyers Naude is a major road near where I live in Johannesburg). (For non-Africans - Kaffir=Nigger in Africa). She was furious. This is what she wrote (this happened to her yesterday):-

Hi
I have just been attacked by a black South African Kaffir. He is not a black South African person, 'cause they are normally kind of normal. No, this was a black Randburg kind of kadoos. Normally when I stop at a traffic light or stop street and a poor person asks for money, black or white, and I have money or food - I give it to the person. Tonite my window was bashed in as I stopped at the Beyers Naude offramp at about 11pm.

My husband restrained me after I came home to change in more suitable clothes to go after this doos (cunt). I did phone the Fairland Police who responded splendidly ( I Checked up on them)

I will be there tomorrow nite and the nite thereafter, and I will find this kadoos...... It seems I will be on my own mission, 'cause that's just the way it is?????

Hi Jan shows you what kind of sicko GROMETs we are surrounded by. Seems like the same kind of Evil shlt that tied up my kids with Cravats. At the time my sophie (Maid) was also tied up with Cravats, an informeress came forward and it turned out that sophie was behind the plot to take me out she even gave her six Gremlins a Foto of me. Now I don't employ any sophies and siphos because I don't trust any any more. The only benefit it has givin me is it has Honed my senses and securities.
