Great Stuff: Zimbabwe: The MDC will form a Government - and irritating bloody people!

I started my day in a foul mood due to personal issues. But anger for me is also a catalyst. It drives me to think of solutions. I was thus in incredibly deep thought today.

My day was made when I saw in THE CITIZEN newspaper that the MDC is preparing to form a Government. EXCELLENT! It changed my mood immediately.

I have TONS to comment on this subject, and the Zimbabwe Civil War.

My ex-Military Intelligence friend and I were discussing possibilities when he came up with a really great political idea.

In short, if the MDC forms a GOVERNMENT... it will be the best chess move they've ever made. It will open up a zillion fabulous possibilities for them and it will allow them to run home runs around Mugabe and Mbeki in one shot. It will give them ascendency politically as well as militarily. In short, it will be the most brilliant move they've ever made in their existence.

But I was also discussing ad infinitum with someone - shall we say - an old "warrior" for want of a better word, the question of blacks fighting back. And I did not mind him criticising what I was saying, but there comes a time when I just get damned fed up.

Yes, I like criticisms and discussing things and throwing ideas around, and I am deeply appreciative of hearing from people with experience. But I also can get extremely fed up when people want to be damned defeatists all the time.

I kept explaining the 101 reasons why the MDC should fight back and the military detail of how they can break Mugabe.

I just got tired of hearing the arguments from this "old white warrior" about why the MDC should be left in this position where they are always beaten. It really irritated me considerably - MOST CONSIDERABLY!

Can't people appreciate some success? Can't people see the hope in some things like when the Blacks fought back successfully? Can't they see that here is some real potential? Don't they want to see some of them win?

I was so flipping cross.

One or two of those Whites I know from Rhodesia/Zimbabwe have been irritating me extremely. Many are quite ok, but one or two in particular whom I know well have been getting under my skin with their defeatism and their utterly pathetic attitudes. There is something about their military attitude towards the Blacks that I can't understand.

I saw it about 6 years ago when one day I spoke to a guy who used to be a Selous Scout. I said to him that Mugabe must be fought and that some kind of plan must be made. So the former Selous Scout said to me, "Well, you need to find a really good sniper who will put a bullet through Mugabe's brain and you'll have to get him out the country and allow him to live elsewhere. You probably won't find anyone who will do it for less than $1 million!"

I was not impressed. I'm not asking for super-men to do amazing stunts. Anyway, will shooting Mugabe bring the whole ZANU govt to a fall? Very likely not. When Mugabe is dead, ZANU PF will still be there.

The Zimbabwe problem is a black problem. It is about one group of blacks pounding another group of blacks. All I'm suggesting is assisting the blacks who are the victims and who are being constantly pounded - that they be assisted in various (most likely simple) ways to be more effective so that they can win and stop being the victims.

I am not thinking about 20 super-soldiers going in there and deposing Mugabe. This is a mass thing. Mugabe mobilises masses - and whoever opposes him must similarly mobilise masses. Yes, its bloody - but that is the nature of Civil war. But it is also the way you win decisively. It is also the way to break ZANU PF completely.

The mood in Zimbabwe among blacks currently as I have heard first-hand, is that they want to fight back. This is a good thing. And they should be helped to achieve that. They should be assisted in stopping being victims and in defending themselves. There are character issues here - things they need to learn to be more self-reliant.

And in my view, there are Whites who could assist in this. I thought there were possibilities for it.

But, one always gets these naysayers with their smart alec reasons FOR DOING NOTHING. It irritates me.

I absolutely hate it when you get people so bogged down in their own intellectualism and "knowledge" that their final conclusion is to be negative about EVERYTHING and to say that there is no action worth taking.

I find it completely unbelievable that one should just accept the status quo. But then again... as I have learned too... sometimes, some people are too busy feathering their own nests and their "logic" really has nothing to do with the argument at hand. They're too busy looking out for their own sorry asses and they don't give a damn about a bigger cause. And in the end, they have decided to do nothing and they try to justify it with some sort of logic.

Its much like the ANC. They have made up their minds ... and they will use bogus logic to give the "reasons" why they "can't" do this and that.

These people aren't sincere. And few things irritate me more than insincerity.

I think you are underestimating the power of genetics and the inheritance of blacks. People will follow their culture and inheritance no matter what. So blacks will always be jealous of whites and eventually want to take things from them and kill them, after they have been living of whitey for generations. I don't think blacks will ever give whitey credit, no matter what. Dan Roodt said that the MDC are just Britain's latest attempt at neo-colonialism after their previous solution, Mugabe became a wise-guy and not only broke their colony but moved against them. So now they try through the MDC.

They are willing to trash billions in UK and EU taxpayer money for their latest plan. I mean if they really cared about the people and the country they could have just offered Ian Smith some support and ZANU will have been history. But no, they will do anything no matter how stupid and expensive not to have autonomous whites rule their former colonies. This is really what the whole thing is about, and Mugabe and the ANC were benefactors of this British enviousness towards the Boers and the Rhodesians. The little British Eaton- and Cambridge- educated pinkto homos in Whitehall really were in awe at the resourcefulness of the Boers and Rhodesians, so in their envy mobilized the whole world to finish those governments off.

I agree with Spiculim to a certain extent, but the day must surely come when the average black person will see the light and vote for the best person for the job regardless of colour or tribe. Assuming of course that he is allowed to by the despot currently in power. The wars have to stop sometime and with the looming food crises, to stop soon and the new Zim. government (positive thought there)needs to be planning now for food production by the best people to avoid the starvation that will ensure their being kicked out of government within about five years if they fail. we are often told that the African black man only lives for today and never plans and the ANC is proving that theory, so the new generation of blacks must be changed to think like the Europeans who have been through all this crap over a thousand years or so ago.

Hey Jan,

You say that now so easily, but maybe these great fighters, like that Selous Scout's guy you're talking about, who in their late teens or early twenties were prepared to give their lifes for Rhodesia, who, when the war was lost (thanks to the West and BJ Vorster), moved overseas or to SA. Got married, had children and now just wants to make a living for themselves and their families and are definitely not interested to support a bloody blackman's war.

And probably, just like them Rhodesian farmers who now live in Nigeria, would also say they ain't going back no matter what. After all what whitey can now really trust a black politician or for that matter even a white one? Haven't we learned a lesson by now or must me still go on making the same bloody mistakes? I can well imagine how fed-up they are. And due to that they now talk in negative terms.

But having said the above I do find it a good idea you once proposed, and that is to publish a list of names and contact details of small white companies/firms in SA who we as whites could buy from. I.e. to support our own rather than these AA and fumbleBEE companies.
