[Video] Mexico: Film footage of strange flying humans?
Date Posted: Friday 02-May-2008This is too bizarre for words. I'm going to post the link to the story, but on the story is a link to a video. Watch that video and tell me what you think. It is too weird for words. Does anyone understand the language and can tell us what they are saying? (I assume it is Spanish - which is a 2nd language for most of you Americans! Wink!)

A lot of knee jerk attempts to rationalise, but which suffer from one major problem. This is far from the only example of such things, which have been going on now for a couple of years by my reckoning. Of the others, each of the suggested explanations here, most of which are easily defused anyway, falls short. It is always going to be possible to rationalise things away. Sometimes you have to look at the evidence in its context, instead of always dealing with everything in isolation.
If the only way you can debunk something as being of unknown origins is to question the credibility of those reporting, then that is far from scientific. Hoaxes do occur but to assume hoax without further investigation, or to refuse further investigation due to a knee jerk feeling it is a hoax is NOT scientific. It is entirely scientific and it is also just honest sometimes to admit it could be something you do not know about. If you can't prove otherwise, I would advise you remain open minded. Closed minds are very slow to catch on to changed circumstances and the world is changing fast. Things believed to be impossible or mere science fiction n a decade ago are now common everyday reality and there are advances in science the likes of which would blow most lay men's minds. Go examine a dozen other videos and reports of these figures before you go spouting off with knee jerk theories and consider my words is my suggestion.
Also since I know the "common skeptic" is slow on the uptake as a rule and makes a lot of jumps of logic, I emphasise I do not believe these figures are anything specifically. I accept after having read dozens of reports and seen close to a dozen videos maybe and hundreds of photos, that there is some unknown phenomenon involved. In at least some of the cases it is not possible to find any known explanation and frankly assuming that just because you can come up with a plausible explanation doesn't mean that is the answer. If some at least are implausible then it opens the field for the unknowns to be as likely more such examples as something assumed without proof either. I believe simply that some of them certainly defy rational explanation unless one is open to the possibility of hitherto unknown realities. Now is it so hard to accept we or indeed you don't know everything there is in the universe? I personally don't have any problem assuming what we/I know is but an infinitesimal fraction of the wider truths out there.

Thanks Jose & Anon for the input.
If you look at it... I really think that thing is floating. Especially when it is below the mountain level - it is as if it is being moved by air currents. There is a strangeness to its motion which makes me think it is a lighter-than-air device.
So many strange stories come out of South America and Latin America. Perhaps those people have a lot of time for hoaxes and games.
It definitely seems to be hoaxed. The question now is how exactly did they do it? To me the figure does not even look "female" - to me it seems partially circular or rounded-triangular...

Hi Guys,
I was chatting to Jeff Rense and he was saying its been going on for some time now. Here is his reply:-
yes, it has been around for about a year.
impressive but we don't know what the wind
was like that day. could be an inflatable with a
small electric fan pushing it. I don't know
what to think except it is very odd.
I like the inflatable and fan idea. In fact, when I think about the video it appears to be a cleverly created hoax. It depends on whether the whole film is "as is" - as per eye witness, or whether someone edited.
If edited (which I think may be the case), then it is easy to do. Note the very bad lighting and that you're merely seeing an outline.
If you look closely, then you'll see a human-type figure with various clothing which has a similar outline to the dirigible. This human is running along the top and then this person suddenly takes to the air. But once in the air, there is no movement. You see the human-like motions, until it takes to the air.
This transformation could have been done with video editing to merge the 2 perfectly.
So I'd suspect this film was actually edited.
If they did pull this trick off as a magic stunt and it was all filmed by an innocent eye-witness then it is the type of thing I'm sure any competant magician could pull off.
In fact, I think if you study it closely the person runs along the hill and enters some foliage and is hidden for a split second and then this thing flies into the air. So it is simply a case of PRACTISE and timing. Then once it is in the air it is a radio-controlled dirigible, probably run with a battery-powered fan of some kind.
The shape of it is interesting. Its not really a "human" shape. It must have this shape for aerodynamic reasons. Its really a type of half-moon on its side with the pointed part in the front. It needs to be this shape so that it can deal with wind resistance.
It also seems to be affected by air currents.
Methinks some clever hoaxsters are behind this and that it is nothing more.
But it is an interesting concept.
This is the type of trick one should keep in mind for warfare in Africa. One could use it for psychological purposes... and to pretend there is witchcraft. It is a clever low-tech trick.
If I ever ran an army, I'd hire a magician or two and some psychologists, and we'd have some fun. I was reading about some of South Africa's psychological warfare in Angola during the Lomba River operations which ended in the battles around Cuito Cuanavale. The psychologists had some good fun there too - mostly with loud-speakers and artillery. But good stuff.
Both FAPLA and the SADF had some interesting deceptions which I've never seen before in any military books.

The language being spoken is indeed Spanish.
The commentator is pretty much saying what is written in the article.
"It looks like a curved female flying, more investigation under way, etc..."
But the report is cut short.
Interesting.

I agree: probably an extreme sportsman/woman sliding down a cable. The terrain is ideal for this. Plus, let's not forget the camera angles and the lighting conditions.
Another possibility is that the video is entirely fake and was produced using good old visual effects. I reckon that an experienced Combustion artists could do it in less than an hour.
There is no paranormal or supernatural phenomena in this universe. I wish that there was but there just isn't.
If there was, scientists would have found it by now. And somebody would have claimed the million dollars that James Randi offers.
