[Pic] In Memory of S.Africa's Greatest Crime Fighter: Norman Reeves & Wife: Tersha
Date Posted: Sunday 21-Oct-2007Here is a photo of the late Norman Reeves and his wife Tersha. He is wearing his medals from his military service in this photo. There were Parabats (parachute battalion troops) at Norman's funeral, since he was their RSM (Regimental Sergeant Major) at one time in his career.
Tersha told me that after Norman's passing, Combat Security did get LOTS of support from the public and many new customers signed up. They got lots of great emails from people.
The team which Norman put together are still in place and Combat Security continues with its kick-ass methods which Norman had started.
The last time I spoke to Norman was one evening, when I was on my way home late from work. Norman phoned to tell me about a great article about him, which mentioned AfricanCrisis, which appeared in a prominent Indian newspaper. The result of that last discussion with Norman is this article, which, to this day, is still heavily read by people on AfricanCrisis. [8 Pics] The King of Combat - South Africa's Greatest Crime Fighter!
I think it is a pretty fitting tribute to have had that sort of discussion with him as the last one.
Norman had a very heavy workload, and the Crime business is a 24/7 type of business and it took its toll on him in terms of workload and stress.
I have no doubt that Tersha and the Team will continue, even more FIRMLY to fight crime in this country the way Norman would have approved of!
Let me say that prior to his passing, Norman took a personal interest in assisting some Zimbabwean friends of mine who were having tremendous troubles here in South Africa. Norman went out of his way to assist these old folks who have serious problems of their own. Norman was an active and energetic man who did what he could. We need more people like him.
As for us on AfricanCrisis, we will NEVER FORGET NORMAN REEVES, nor the others who supported us, and who passed away. People like my mentor, Dr Chris Jordaan and also former President PW Botha. All three of these people gave their time, effort and support to me while they lived, and I will ensure that we will have a memorial to them, and we will remember them not only for what they did for AfricanCrisis and myself, but also for what they did for South Africa. Each in their own way, were fervent patriots. I knew them personally, and I know too, that lots of rubbish was written about them by their enemies. But we will never forget them, and we will carry out our NEVER-ENDING fight to clear their names. They stood up for us, and we in turn, will stand up for them - to the end. Jan.
The following tribute from his wife is on the Combat Security website:-
"No life passes without a purpose; No sorrow goes uncomforted."
True Love is unconditional and everlasting, it is established over time and validated with memories of the past.
Marriage may be made in Heaven, but the maintenance must be done on earth with hard work.
Your hard work will not be in vain...
Tersha Reeves
