13 armed gangsters attack another Spar supermarket in Pretoria - it's open season!

Sept 21 2007 JOHANNESBURG, South Africa. After the fourth attack on a Spar supermarket in Pretoria this year by a 13-member, armed gang, a security expert has warned that 'the annual criminals' Christmas "shopping season" has already started.

The 13-man gang, who were armed with an assortment of assault rifles and handguns, attacked Mooikloof Village Spar just after 7pm.

The gunmen escaped with thousands of rands and left a Chubb security guard injured in their spree of terror.

Security guards said the robbers - five of whom took up positions throughout the parking lot to fend off police and security guards - grabbed a guard, stealing his cellphone and cash, before storming the store.

Some of the gunmen forced 20 staff and customers to lie on the floor, grabbing cellphones, wallets and valuables, while the others forced open tills and safes.
Spar risk manager Charles Lowings confirmed the attack, adding that this was the fourth Spar in Pretoria to be attacked this year.

"I am just relieved that no one was seriously injured in the attack," he said.
Consumer Goods Council of South Africa (CGCSA) crime prevention programme head, Michael Broughton, said it appeared as though the attack was the start of the criminals' Christmas "shopping season".

Broughton said the festive season was a very worrying time of the year for supermarkets with the number of attacks on shops and malls certain to increase as Christmas approached.

If the world does not wake up to the fact that the Afrikaner is being destroyed in every possible way, the history books will read about a people that was: a people who strived and succeeded in establishing republics, but were almost destroyed in the concentration camps in the Anglo Boer War; who rebuilt yet again, and who is now, as a people, being destroyed yet again.
We are told we are getting what we deserve. Yet, we did more for the development of all people than any other government or institution in Sub-Saharan Africa could - even though England was draining our resources since after the Anglo Boer War.
Recently, the IMF refused a loan to CHAD - if the Apartheid government did that, all hell would have broken lose.

In responce to "lychmans" comments... he is a blatent liar!!!If a black man assaults, kills, rapes, etc. he goes to jail,or faces execution just the same as a white man would!!! What do you hope to acheive by misleading SA whites into believing the black mentality is the same over here in the United States? Being that I live in a farming state.
Do you knoe anything about Genitic improved grain? It means that when we geniticly change the corn instead of producing 3 ears to a plant it will produce 5-6 ears. Even with cows producing milk. Even over there female hormons are injected in to cows so they could produce more milk. If we didn't do that production would drop a great deal And growth hormons are injected in to cattle, hogs, and chickens to make them go to market much sooner

Just too bad the USA is feeding most of the world with genetically-modified food these days, but yes, you are feeding most of the world. Bully for your farmers, but the main reason it works so well in the USA is your system of land ownership. The farmer owns the title-deed and can borrow against its value. In South Africa, that used to be the case with the commercial farmers too, making it a flourishing, self-sufficient and hard-working community which kept the entire country fed with affordable, wholesome food.

Now the ANC-regime is confiscating these farms under the guise that they are 'giving' them to 'previously disadvantaged' i.e. black tribal people. But they DON'T give them the title-deeds to this land at all - the title deeds are retained by the STate -- and these poor tribal families who move onto this tiny land-parcels only get a piece of paper saying that they are allowed to live there 'as long as they farm there.'

In Africa traditionally it's the woman who do all the hard farm labour. They are not educated in modern-farming methods and are seen only as beasts of burden. I have never really gained any kind of understanding of exactly what contribution African men make to farming except to sit on their front porches and watch their cattle trot by. The women don't own the cattle, and neither are they allowed to touch them: that's men's business. So farming in Africa is very much an affair dating back to the slash-and-burn happy-go-lucky techniques of the middle-ages. That's why most of Africa is starving to death most of the time, depending on the weather. If they are lucky, they get a good harvest -- but most of this harvest is eaten up by these farmers and their incredibly huge tribal families themselves. It's the least effective use of farm land I have ever seen anywhere in the world. A total waste of space.

Thanks lynchemall for your reply. Unless you have lived in a 3rd world country we don't realize how good we have it. In Omaha the everyday killings is Black killing black a lot is the teen agers doing it. I guess it is in their genes that make them that way. I think they still live in the jungle

man, i thought we had it bad here in the u.s . [ of course our media outlets wont or cant provide the u.s populace with black criminal statistics, because they would be called racist and sued by the naacp. ]but it sounds worse there. much worse. you know the new catch phrase? if you build it, they will come? if you [ African whites ] start the war [ race war ], we [ u.s whites ] will come.

here in the u.s, if you insult a black man he has the right to kill you with no fear from the law. if you insult a black man, you lose your job. thats how bad it is here. our own government is color blind. [ they don't see white ] and are passing laws that only hand down half the sentence [ or none at all ] to a black man, where if a white committed the same crime would get life. if the white man committed the same crime but the victim was black, the white mans sentence would be life plus a day.[ racial hatred law is automatically handed down if the white mans victim is black ] even if race was not a factor in the crime.

Some nice comments about Land Reform in Zim.

Don't worry, land reform in SA is already hitting us. The food price inflation figures are already starting to rise ALARMINGLY! Ask anyone who goes grocery shopping. Give it some time... and you'll see ENDEMIC inflation in this country. I think we've hit it already, where nothing the Govt does slows inflation down.

This is merely the result of ANC rule working its way through the system.

Let's not play Mbeki's word games hey! Like you Jimmy, I live in the real world. Been attacked twice myself, and had a gunman in my back yard too. My neighbours have been robbed... and so forth.

My one cousin (a gentle guy who never hurt a fly) was shot dead in Germiston some years ago by criminals. They shot him dead, stole nothing, and ran away.

I suppose Mbeki is a "genius" compared to what's coming... but anyhow. Let's not fool ourselves about the state of this country.

My dear Mr Rexdeus. I see you are not using your real name. Here in the States we don't have to drive with our doors locked and windows close. And crime is next to nothing with the exception of the ones that came here illegaly.
And as for your Great land reform look what has happened in Zimbabwe. You take the farms away from the whites that know the land and has made it produce for many years. Producing Class A produce and grain and livestock. You give it to a black that doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground that has gardened a small piece of grown to raise a row of corn . What the hell do you think will happen? They will tear out all the metal and sell it for scrap and leave the land and you will starve like the people in Zim. Mogabi is asking the WHITE farmers to return to farm again. It has been in the news all over the world.You must be Black and a member of the ANC you will destroy South Africa like Mogabi has to Zim. I find it amazing that friend Rexdeus makes the comments he does. Never being affected by crime and sketching a picture of this wonderful nearly crime free new SA.
I must agree that either you are a black person or a member of the ANC or even both.
They are the only people who would down play the crime is this counrty and refer to people fortunate enough to leave this counrty as running away.
I would suggest that you pull your head out of the hole it is stuck in and tell the truth. I do not believe for one single momemt that you or "any" other person living in SA does not PERSONNLY know someone that has been affected by crime here.
It is mostly people with goverment connections that talk your language.
Yes those who plunder and murder do make a mistake now and then and rob the wrong person of his vehicle, meaning a goverment offical.

Yes there is crime all over the world even in the USA. But it is and never will be as bad as it is in SA.
South Africa is the number 1 in the world for murder.
Every night you can hear gun shots in your house. Why are there bar's on all the windows and doors. Why is there 8 foot walls around every house and complex with razor wire on that or electric wires. Why you don't stop at red robots or stop signs at night.Right now children 2-6 years old are disapearing. They are being trained as whores for the 2010 world cup soccer.Both boys and girls. Where I live, there are no fences or walls, we can leave the doors unlocked at night. We are safe to walk the streets at night without fear of being attack.So don't tell me it is like where you live all over the world. I lived in Magaliessig in Gauteng, people were even held up and shot in front of their complexes. Our banks are all open door here. WE DON'T LIVE IN FEAR OVER HERE Maybe you are black and crime does not affect you.

This is very concerning, just for the fact these roberies does not reach main stream news.
Stats show you are more likely to have a house break in Australia than in South Africa, more likely to have a hi-jack in Briton than in South Africa, BUT the difference is you are more likely to die in a hi-jack, robery or criminal activity in South Africa.
The land reform had something like 72 000 applicants, only 2 500 remain out standing, no where in the world where land reform has take place has ever seen such success (not even Canada with less than 3 000 applicants was dealt with with such success, or Australia)
The government stance on crime is however THE biggest problem. Sunny South Africa, not that easy to get rid of me though. Crime happens everywhere it is how you respond to that that matters, the chance do exist you might not be as lucky as you were in South Africa, you got away with your life, maybe next time in USA you might not be that lucky, where will your family run then? My 5 cents, I should say I have never been a victim of a robery, hi-jack, assult or any violent crime, so maybe my view might change, but then listening to others one would believe everyone is vitims in South Africa, just know there are people that has not experienced the ugly of South Africa, as many that are running has nor experienced the worst of the countries they run to.

This is the way of life in SA. I have lived there. There is a highjacking every 5 min, A woman is brutaly raped every 6 min, abnd this was in 2004. I was taken by gun point and high jacked for my car to be used in a big robbry that night. And every day it is getting worst. The land is being taken from the whites and given to the blacks. If a complant is made against you and your company your busness is given to the black that made the complant. Thank God I got out with my life.
