[2 Graphs] The Accelerating Collapse of the Zimbabwe Dollar in 2007

[I asked Robb Ellis to update and send me the latest graphs of the Zimbabwe Dollar showing the Official and Market rates. You will see that in June 2007, it was collapsing at an unbelievable rate.

Here is what it looked like at the start of June 2007:-

The US Ambassador to Zimbabwe predicted an inflation rate of 1.5 million % by year end. I see no reason to disagree with his viewpoint.

Robert Mugabe should be tried for crimes against humanity and executed in public, so that other dictators like Thabo can see what will happen to you if you run a country like a criminal (dumb criminal). But then again... this will never hapen in a politically correct world!

There is not anything about this inflation that should surprise anyone. There is nothing mysterious about economics. Of course, governments do try and make it seem mysterious, in order to prevent the public being aware of their -the governments'- mischievious incompetence. And while I have at least the minimum amount of compassion appropriate for those caught up in this inflation, it isn't appropriate for anyone to empathize excessively about it, because, for one thing, we didn't create it, and, for another, it's not our responsibility to correct it. The responsibility belongs to those who caused it, and also to those who, by their own inaction, did nothing to stop it themselves, and who also did nothing to prepare themselves for it. So please don't come crying on my shoulder. I've got all I can do to prepare for the inflation that is going to occur sooner or later here in the U.S. That's my responsibility. I'm not responsible for trying to solve problems in Africa. You need to take care of these things yourselves. We all do, everywhere. The problem is not unique to one nation. It's endemic to many.

Why isn't the UN trying to stop this travesty?

Also, is this the way the U.S. is going to wind up?

With these 2 ongoing wars, the perpetual war "on terror", our Massive Trade Deficit (what happens if China pulls the rug out from underneath us), the $Billions flowing OUT OF OUR Country from Remittence, the (multipronged attack on our middle class) from outsourcing, all the visas including H1B and the rampant & encouraged Illegal Immigration (with all their free benefits such as free childbirth/automatic citizenship of their babies-WIC etc benefits & free schooling of the illegal children forced on the taxpayers, I think we're in huge danger of winding up just like Zimbabwe.
