[3 Pics] Ian Smith & Kevin Woods, African James Bond meet
Date Posted: Tuesday 05-Jun-2007[Here are some photos from earlier in 2007. Kevin Woods, the South African super-spy whom Mugabe jailed for about 20 years or so, and who was released because of health problems, met with former Rhodesian Prime Minister Ian Smith in Cape Town this year.
These photos are from that get together. Jan]
This is Kevin Woods. He has a heart problem and was due to go for a heartbypass operation in May 2007, but he has some financial problems among other reasons why he put it off. He is first finishing his memoirs. He will go for the op later this year. He has paintings he wants to sell to raise a bit of money for himself. I will try to get details. When he was in jail he painted on whatever he could find. Painting was his way of surviving the dreaded Chikurubi prison in Zimbabwe. I told Kevin Woods that as far as I'm concerned he's a HERO! He did amazing stuff for South Africa - he infiltrated and spied on Mugabe's CIO at its highest levels. Its amazing that Mugabe did not execute him. I think he kept him as a bargaining chip.

Thank you so much for posting these pictures; looking at them it feels like walking into another world and suddenly one remembers that there was a time when one and one really did equal two!
My best wishes for Mr. Smith: Ad multos annos and for 'James Bond', every success for his upcoming operation. And to both of them a deep, heartfelt Thank You for what they have done for Africa. It will never be forgotten.

Kevin you are in my prayers as you have been for a long time. Two heros in one photo -- sometimes it is hard to find even one!
