[2 Graphs] The Total Collapse of the Zimbabwe Dollar in 2007
Date Posted: Sunday 03-Jun-2007Robb Ellis, the author of "Without Honours, and who runs TheBeardedMan Blogspot, sent me this info which he has been compiling.
The one graph below shows the official Zimbabwe Dollar exchange rate with the British Pound. The other shows the unofficial, Free Market Zim Dollar Exchange rate. I will check with him the source where he is getting the info from.
However, he remarked to me yesterday that the Zimbabwe Dollar is collapsing COMPLETELY... (not officially - but on the Free Market).
So here are two graphs I compiled using his data to show this. The cover the same period from March 2007 to present.
NOTE: The official Dollar Exchange Rate in Zimbabwe has always differed from the Free Market (Black Market) exchange rate simply because it is controlled by the Reserve Bank. For many years now, the two have been totally disconnected with the official exchange rate having very little bearing on the economic reality of that country.
Officially, very little has changed in the last 3 months:-

But on the Free Market, the Dollar is in a total state of collapse. Viva Mugabenomics I say! Yeah boy... you go show that White Man how its done! Jan.

Ananya mumbai must be a none functional mathematician. The graphs are easy to understand, even to the illiterate. Well done with your recording Roberto Ellis. You have done a great job of recording these numbers!!
