EXPOSED: Zim: Mugabe's CIO Death List - Kevin Woods Analysis

Date Posted: Saturday 07-Apr-2007

I have more evidence and thoughts now to back up my analysis of this document. I published this article yesterday,
[Pic] EXPOSED: Zim: Mugabe's CIO Death List, Robb & Jan's Analysis.

It has really had me scratching my head and I have been talking to a number of people about it. Robb Ellis did a great analysis of it, and even he still has questions as to its exact purpose.

I asked many people for their input. I know for example, that Roy Bennett of the MDC was curious about what exactly it meant. So several of us have been sharing thoughts.

I asked Kevin Woods, who was in the upper echelons of Mugabe's structures for his take on it. He says it is definitely not the real thing. He pointed out that two missing items are:-
1. A Classification of Top Secret. This document is not classified.
2. It has no reference number.

So he feels it is suspect and to be ignored. He said it seems to be a "scam" of some type. But would not venture more.

Kevin also referred to the story of the attempted coup - the April Fool's day story. His words to me were that I must remember that *EVERYTHING* that emanates from Zanu(PF) has but one purpose and that is to "maintain the status quo".

So all these stories of soldiers being killed, this CIO hit list, etc - regardless of how we view or understand them - whoever created them, had but one purpose: To do something that will help keep Zanu(PF) alive and Mugabe in power.

So we need to "reverse engineer" what the purpose of these stories may really have been.

Remember too that the CIO are constantly spying on people and watching their reactions so they know how people react and think - and they create their disinformation from that vantage point where they have a pretty good sense of the effect this is likely to have on various people.

Robb Ellis had another "security expert" analyse the document. The analysis was that the document is created in an authentic way. They are not very computer literate in the CIO and a certain type of type-writer is used, and this is consistent with that. The CIO stamp is also genuine.

The document itself DOES HAVE A LARGE NUMBER OF GENUINELY CORRECT ASPECTS TO IT.

But then, the document also has a number of definite ERRORS too.

My personal viewpoint remains unchanged:-
1. Whoever created the document DID have access to the real CIO facilities needed to create such a document. I, for example, could not have created this document at home.

2. Whoever created the document most probably could have made it 100% genuinely authentic, but to do so would not serve the documents real purpose, ergo they introduced certain errors which people would easily spot - e.g. the missing reference number which all military documents have - even the silly school boy code, intended to be cracked by virtually anyone.

3. So I think the document was indeed created by the CIO, with correct info as well as false info in it. It was created with enough correct info to fool many people - especially those looking for evidence to print in newspapers and put out on the internet. They probably hoped that many people would be so keen to run off and print this that they would not analyse it properly. So if Wilf Mbanga and ZimDaily printed it - that is most probably what they wanted - because, deeper examination would reveal that the document is in fact FAKE.

4. The document is fake in 3 ways:-
(a) There are procedural errors on the document (no Top Secret classification, no Reference number) - which itself would indicate that this document is invalid and could not have been used within the Zim Govt/Army structures anyway. This document is NOT a valid order to begin with.

(b) The document contains factual errors. For example, at least one of the people mentioned therein died years ago. How can you order the death of someone who is already dead?

(c) The predictions in the document of people to be killed, will never be fulfilled. Whoever wrote the document must have been of high enough rank to have known that the people mentioned would never be killed. Take for example, Phiri who is mentioned in the document. He has already been detained by authorities more than once. If they had wanted to kill him, they have already had ample opportunity to do so. Clearly, they don't want to kill him.

Let me explain more of why I think this document will prove to be total rubbish. If this is a CIO Death List, and people run around touting it as such, they will discover to their amazement, as the years go by, that NONE OF THE PEOPLE MENTIONED THEREIN WILL DIE! I said that yesterday. Those people mentioned in that document are far too prominent to be killed without causing tremendous hassles for Zanu(PF). Zanu(PF) has ZERO INTENTION OF KILLING ANY OF THEM.

Zanu(PF) will abduct, torture and murder people in the lower ranks of the MDC, but not prominent people such as these!

If you understand that document correctly, that document is almost a "passport of safety". Anyone mentioned in this "death list" will most likely never come under a true threat to his/her life - because it would be far too obvious and too open - and it would backfire on Zanu(PF) internationally too much. They will therefore NEVER Kill Morgan Tsvangirai. Nor will they kill Roy Bennett. They'll assault them, chuck them in jail, fine them, etc - but *NEVER* KILL THEM!

I think an interesting twist in this was the mention of Wilf Mbanga, owner of The Zimbabwean. He, more than anyone may run around now claiming to be on a CIO Death list... but the CIO has no desire to go to the UK and to try and kill him on foreign soil because there will be too many repurcussions. But, it will be good for Zanu(PF) if Wilf runs around claiming that his life is under threat - since nothing will happen to him - and ditto for everyone else on the list.

Ergo, in the end... as the years and months go by... Wilf will walk around with egg on his face... as will anyone else who thought it was genuine.

People will run around crying wolf and claiming Mugabe is evil and discover to their amazement that their "holy grail" is a falsehood and that on this particular occasion nothing will happen to any of these people. It will make them look stupid while making Zanu(PF) look humane and innocent. It will make it look as if people are falsely accusing Zanu(PF) of evil things!

I think this CIO Death List will turn out to be nothing of the sorts. Look at Phiri who was captured and released again and again... but he's still alive. They may harrass him, but they won't kill him.

So my feeling is, that EVERYONE mentioned on this so-called "Death List" are actually going to be quite safe - from assassination - because that is in fact crucial to the slow and long term DISCREDITING OF THAT DOCUMENT WHICH ITS CREATORS HAD PLANNED.

So my analysis remains essentially the same as it did yesterday - except I have more reasons to back up that line of thinking. To all those people mentioned on that Death List - sleep tight - the CIO will not come to kill you! Not now, and not in the next 5 years! Jan.
