[9 Graphs] How Nelson Mandela brought Crime & Murder to South Africa
Date Posted: Saturday 10-Mar-2007In October 2006, I suggested that we do a graphical exercise on the long history of South African crime because it would result in an interesting analysis.
The original email along with its source data and the logic therein can be found at this link: Click here for the original article, data and rationale.
Crime in South Africa is on everyone's lips these days and it is even the talk of the world. Everyone condemned Apartheid and what whites here were doing for decades. It was said that the ANC (African National Congress), led by Nelson Mandela would be the solution to the problems of this country.
The brutal crime in this country which stuns the world, is something of a mystery to most people. I want to engage in an exercise using data from a New York Times writer and well known Libertarian, along with official data from the current S.African Government to demonstrate a few shocking facts which most people are oblivious to when analysed within the context of the history of this country.
I would like to thank the many readers from my website who helped compile these graphs, most especially Verena, whose layout I chose for this exercise.
I am going to make the Excel spreadsheet we used, available for download by other South Africans, including crime websites, who may wish to do their own investigations and perhaps modify the figures according to their own research. I'm making this available to everyone, along with all the sources of the data so that anyone can check and verify my logic and statements. I would appreciate it, if anyone can find more complete and more accurate records, if they would kindly return to me the updated spreadsheet along with any new graphs or data or analyses they have done.
That's another thing... South Africa must be the only country in the world with a plethora of individually run Crime Websites! Why? Because crime is an enormous issue here and the mere fact that people are debating it and going to the extent of forming anti-crime organisations and websites should tell you what a concern it is over here.
You can download the spreadsheet we created from here: Click here to download the Crime Stats Excel Spreadsheet
My original idea came from a book called, "Die, the Beloved Country?" by Jim Peron who wrote for the New York Times and who came to live in South Africa.
That book's details can be seen on my website's shop at this URL:
Click here for the link to: "Die, the Beloved Country?"
Jim Peron was/is a well known Libertarian. He was so excited when Nelson Mandela and his ANC came to power in 1994, that he left America to live in South Africa to be a part of the amazing country which he believed we were creating here.
However, when Jim Peron saw what Mandela was doing up close, he was so disgusted that he did not even wait for the 2nd term of ANC rule. He wrote a book called, "Die, the Beloved country?" which when it was printed was quietly removed from bookshelves by the S.African Government. Jim Peron was so disgusted that he packed up and went to New Zealand!
Here are a few quotes from Jim Peron in his book:-
"There is going to be interference from the Government in every sphere of life and activity in South Africa..." - Steve Tshwete, Minister of Sport
"It is imperative to get rid of merit as the overriding principle in the appointment of public servants." - Mario Rantho - ANC MP
President Mandela said the ANC wants a two-thirds majority "to ensure that we are not interfered with by Mickey Mouse (opposition) parties".
In Jim's book, on pages 104-105, he compiled crime statistics for South Africa from 1974-1997. It was those statistics in this book by this New York Times writer that gave me the idea for this exercise.
I want to take these figures to show you some interesting things about South Africa which I'll bet most people never knew.
Over the years, as I have watched and analysed the ANC's actions, I have come to the conclusion that crime and the ANC go together. There should be no mystery about the fact that we are flooded with crime. The crime did not happen by accident.
My thesis which I will present to you is this: The Explosion of Crime in South Africa runs directly parallel with the growth, influence and power of Nelson Mandela's (ANC) African National Congress.
Indeed, I have said over the years that:-
(a) The ANC loves crime, wants crime and will try to make it worse!
Now I want to add a further thought:-
(b) As long as the ANC rules South Africa, crime will always be out of control. Crime will only go away when the ANC goes away.
Remember those words... in the years ahead as we revisit this crime issue.
In the first exercise we will work only with Jim Peron's compiled statistics. Below we see burglary statistics from 1974-1997. I drew 3 green arrows on the timeline because I want to show you some things.
I drew 3 green arrows on the graph to coincide with important historical dates which affected this country. South Africa was firmly under White Apartheid rule in the 1970's. The first serious sign of trouble were the 1976 Soweto riots. These were quelled and things quietened down. ANC terrorists were unable to enter the country in large numbers from the north because of the war raging in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). In 1980, Robert Mugabe came to power in Zimbabwe. The following year, I was the first of my family to leave and go to South Africa. 1981 was a relatively quiet year in South Africa, but in 1982, with Mugabe in power in Zimbabwe and the Rhodesian war (which had raged not only in Rhodesia but in Mozambique and other neighbouring states) was over. Now that the Rhodesian war was over, the ANC terrorists could enter South Africa. So it took them a while to get organised and by 1982, they started coming in over the borders.
So that is why I drew the green arrow roughly in the 1982 column - because you will see that from 1982 to 1987, crime - in South Africa - in ALL categories went up! However, no history book will tell you this. The history books will tell you that the ANC's "struggle against Apartheid" was occuring in this time. What I'm showing you is a dimension of the ANC's political/military struggle which everyone has ignored.
But first let's focus on the burglary graph only. You will see similar patterns in other graphs.
By 1987, South Africa was a hotbed of ANC terrorism. This was "the struggle" which they talk so proudly of. But, the struggle was not warfare in the conventional sense. It was not really aimed at the white power structures - it was aimed at civilians - because that's who terrorists go for. Terrorism is about killing and terrorising the weak, the old, the young and the UNARMED. Crime is just another dimension of terrorism. They also used crime as a way of funding their activities - and perhaps this is still going on - to this very day!
So while Nelson Mandela's ANC was busy planting bombs... they were also busy... driving up crime in this country - in fact, every conceivable facet of CRIME!
By 1987 things were really violent... But the Apartheid Government fought back furiously on all levels, and so you can see a dip in most crimes after 1987.
The ANC's plan in those days of its "struggle" was to "make the country ungovernable" - that was their slogan and their strategic aim.
Nelson Mandela was released from 27 years in jail on February 11th, 1990.
Go back to the graph with Jim Peron's figures on it, and you'll see something interesting. In 1989/1990, the Apartheid Government under President FW De Klerk was talking PEACE. They were talking about handing over power to Nelson Mandela and the ANC. As a consequence of this talk, and to show their sincerity, they released Nelson Mandela from prison in February 1990. But what happened immediately after that? Not what you would expect! Look at the graph... and you will see... crime started exploding upwards! You will see it on each and every one of the graphs below - except for rape. Rape is the only crime that did not go up as a result of Nelson Mandela's release. But every other crime - from burglary to MURDER exploded upwards from that moment onwards!
And EXPLODE - it did! Like never before in the history of South Africa!
In 1994, Nelson Mandela became the first black President of South Africa, and the ANC took over the country. Most crimes went up even after Nelson Mandela and the ANC came to power - again - contrary to expectation!
Let's quickly look at these same time periods and the crime statistics for different types of crime. In the car theft statistics below we see it levelling out a bit but then by 1997 showing the beginnings of a new upward trend.
Robbery showed a similar patten, a bit of a slowing down, but then back on upward.
Take Note: Nowhere, in any of these graphs will you see crime returning back down to the low Apartheid levels. In fact, crime never even returns back to the days of the maximum violence of the struggle days of 1987! In 1987, this country was regarded as falling apart at the seams because of the violence, yet... if you will look at any crime statistics for 1997 and compare it with 1987 you will see that the 1987 levels are very low. As incredible as this may sound, post-Apartheid South Africa is much more violent than Apartheid South Africa was even at the height of the war and instability brought on by the ANC! That is an incredible fact!
Rape is an interesting crime. Rape only really started rising from 1988 onwards. It is the only crime which does not go up a lot when Nelson Mandela is released from prison. It is rising all the time, but its real explosion occurs just before the ANC takes over in 1994 and thereafter. I have no explanation for it.
Now murder is an interesting crime. It is also the most sensitive crime and the one the Government is most likely to cover up. Murder can also be a way of assassinating one's opponents. There is a proven link in revolutions between murder and assassination. Terrorists and Liberation Movements in many countries around the world have used murder and crime as a way of hiding their revolutionary activities. They not only use crime to obtain funds, but also to despatch troublesome people. Note how murder climbed quietly and constantly and exploded upwards even until and shortly after 1994. Then it settles down a bit. Or does it? Or have some of the figures been fiddled? We'll discuss that later.
Now we see in the combined graph below, all the crimes. I even inserted the release of Nelson Mandela in 1990 - and tried to position the column exactly there along with the elections in April 1994. So looking back over the trends we can see:-
1982 - The borders are open, ANC infiltration begins in a big way...
1987 - Violence and terror hits its peak...
1990 - Nelson Mandela is released...
1994 - Nelson Mandela and the ANC come to power.
All these points in time, showing the rise in power of the ANC (even when the White Govt was talking peace and handing over power)... coincide with ever more violence. In short... as the ANC's power grows... so do almost all forms of crime.
Jim Peron's statistics only go up to 1997. Even under Mandela, crime was stressing people out and most people who have left this country and emigrated elsewhere have cited crime as the reason. Now you can see why 1 million out of the 5 million whites who left... had good reason to. Even non-whites have left South Africa since 1994!
But as crime was getting worse under Mandela's rule, and then Jim Peron's book came out (which the Govt quietly removed from bookstores) ... the Government became rather concerned about their "image". They weren't so much concerned about actually combatting crime - but about everyone's "perceptions" about crime. So in 2000, they did a strange thing - they put a moratorium on the release of crime statistics. From 2000, until the present time (March 2007), the Govt has never again released crime statistics like they did in the past. They simply keep all crime under wraps for a year and then they release it. From 2000 onwards they also started counting it differently and they changed all sorts of categories. The fudging of crime statistics probably started on a smaller scale prior to 2000 but in 2000 they had to control it very firmly. From then onwards (it should come as no surprise to us), crime has officially been "going down". Pretty much everybody in this country believes the Govt is lying about crime. That's no secret. Everyone can see it. But I wish to make two points:-
1) What might the real crime levels actually be like now?
2) And how does crime compare, even with these fudged statistics, with what it was in the 1970's and 1980's?
I searched the Internet a bit and found two well acknowledged sources of crime statistics.
The one is the Institute for Strategic Studies.
Click here for ISS Crime Statistics.
The other is the South African Government itself.
Click here for the South African Govt Crime Statistics page.
I took the statistics - the fudged ones from Govt, and modified 3 of the crime categories (going back to 1995). And this is the result.
Here is burglary. I have an arrow at 2000, when the Govt officially and openly started suppressing, editing and changing the crime statistics. It should be no surprise that "crime went down". Firstly notice the general upward trend of burglary in S.Africa. If one were to extrapolate it, one could guess that by now, 2007, we should be having about 500,000 burglaries annually as opposed to the 300,000 maximum recorded in those statistics. (Note: Many people in S.Africa do not report all crimes except in order to get a case number for insurance purposes). Secondly, even the fudged crime statistics are extremely high - in fact - higher than at any time during Apartheid including "the struggle/war/revolution".
Look at car theft statistics when modified by the official, fudged, Government statistics - taken in a historical context. The blue arrow is when the moratorium on crime statistics was implemented by the ANC in 2000. Not surprisingly, thereafter things "improved". But look at a clear trend in car theft which goes as far back, in a flat straight line as 1984 - even back to 1982. Extrapolate that... and the figure is shocking. Compare it to the fudged figure. We can: (a) Say that the fudged figure is a LOT lower than what the real figure probably is. (b) Even the fudged figure is still higher than before the ANC came to power.
Murder statistics are the most sensitive statistics of all. They are the crime figure that worry people the most. So they show a consistent downward trend since 1997 - but people will question that. You will notice that even according to official statistics, murder increased well after the ANC came to power and officially it peaked in 1996/7. It went down a little and then started going UP again... and then, in kicks the moratorium on crime statistics... The blue arrow is when the moratorium kicked in and the fudging began. I did a bit of a thumbsuck and guess and my arrow points to 30,000+ murders a year. International studies have shown that S.Africa is 8 times more violent than the average country on planet earth. The USA with 300 million people worries about 16,000 murders. S.Africa with an official population of 45 million has an official murder rate of over 18,000 (fudged). The reality is probably 30,000 or even higher. Dan Roodt was using the figure of 30,000 back in 2003. I'm not sure the source he obtained it from, nevertheless, I think many would say that it is a pretty reasonable assumption.
I recently contacted the regional manager of a very big nationwide security company asking if he could give me an indication of crime in my suburb. He said, according to their records "crime doubled in the period 2005-2006". When I asked him to elaborate more, he did not respond further when he realised I had a website. So although my extrapolations on these graphs may seem scary... it is possible... that the reality is even more frightening!
These days, people are turning out in huge numbers to protest against crime. People have been begging for a return of the death penalty for years. The Government ignores them. One group of people sent 30,000 petitions directly to President Mbeki. (He says out of control crime "is just a perception"). More recently I heard of 80,000 people signing a petition, and one organisation promising to collect 1 million signatures to give to government. Crime is a huge issue in S.Africa and yet, NOBODY has dared to take numbers, such as I have here, and put them into graphs and studied them - because perhaps - that is the most shocking exercise of all!!
By the way, Nelson Mandela loved releasing criminals as does the current Government. One year, Nelson Mandela said he would "give the country a present" and the present was the release of 9,000 criminals. In recent years enormous numbers were released. In one series of releases they were talking of letting 63,000 criminals go. I posted that story on my website quite a long time ago, along with TvNews photos. Here is the link to the story:- Click here for the story of the release of 63,000 criminals.
I would like to co-operate with anyone who can source better and more accurate data. I have wondered if anyone in one of the larger security or insurance companies would be prepared to anonymously release some of their data. I would like to see statistics for the last 10 years because it is these years which are the most worrisome.
But when crime in S.Africa is looked at in a historical context, it brings home a completely different picture showing what this country was like and how things have changed in a way which I think few expected - most definitely not anyone outside this country.
Finally, if anyone wants to take some of these pages with statistics and wishes to expand/grow the spreadsheet with additional data and then send it to me - feel free to do so. Just drop a line on the "Contact us" page of my website.
I hope this spurs people on and helps them to see and understand the state of this country. Jan.

Though the ANC has failed us, black people still won't vote for the DA. Its the same reason Turkeys don't vote for Christmas.
So stop whining and leave SA cos things ain't gonna get better.

I am glad this information gets posted for all to see.
Although this dark valley we find ourself in, everyone reading here:
Evil can not triumph over Good. The light can shine in the dark but the darkness can not exist in light.
As all things, the wheel turns, sometimes slowly. South Africa will never, ever be the same again.

Yes Tylor George,
It is nice of you to display your ignorance stemming from your obvious hatred of the white race who brought man civilization, industrialization and prosperity.
Pitty though that you blacks could not in the past and still don't today contribute to the advancement of man, technology and the world.
Pitty that you are nothing but parasites demanding from white man what he has developed and that the vast majority of blacks suffer from arrogant entitlement.
And yes you must be right:
Blacks under White rule had:
Jobs, income, houses, education, literacy, medical treatment etc.
But they werent allowed to share the same entrances of facilities, beaches, churhes, etc with whites.
And they were forced to live civilized and they were disciplined if they let their savagery shine through etc...
Today under Black rule:
They are sinking into an abyss of illiteracy in a crime ridden and corrupt hellhole, with a growing unemployment rate, poverty, disease and famine etc.
But they can go through any door they want to, legally and ilegally, they can defacate and urinate against any wall, tree or traffic light, they can rape, rob and murder anywhere, on any beach and in any neighborhood etc.
You're right.
Blacks truly suffered under white rule.
And under black rule they are much more free and happy.
And soon they will be as free as the blacks in Zimbabwe, Kenya, the DRK, Zambia and the rest of Africa. Perhaps they will even be as free and prosperous as the American Blacks in their American created African independent, black ruled heavenly homeland called Liberia.
Then they will become as the rest of Africa, an added burden on dilusional liberal white western countries' tax payers. Then you can try to feed, house, medicate and educate them. And of course pay for their black leaders to live the life of kings while their blacks starve...
And as they drain all your resources, they will move nearer to you and spread their culture of entitlement, savagery and total under achievement to a town and neighborhood near you...
Enjoy!
At least then you will begin to understand the world of savages and that might just break your cycle of irritable idiocy...
Greetings from the wise whites, with knowledge, know-how, experience and in touch with reality.

You can't blame Mandela for this he just wanted to be equal which is only fair considering its his home country. But like most things greed and fear set in after is retirement.
I feel sorry for all the white SA people but you had a chance to get together and buy land in 94 and didn't.
SA will never prosper under the ANC and even Mandela knows that. Blacks are terrible to each other no matter where they live and this will always be their downfall. Civil war will start in SA when Mandela dies that will be the end of a once great country.

I'll bet crime statistics from the apartheid regime mostly concern reported crimes against whites, whatever happened in the townships must have been of 'less concern' to the police, Taking this in account crime would logically skyrocket when the ANC came to power, because of the way the information gathering was changed. Statistics can be made to prove any point and do not make truths. Although violent crime is a big problem and politics is not handeling it well, the ANC cannot be blamed for all crime in SA, lack of jobs, proper education and healthcare no doubt can.
Keep believing in SA, it's the only way to sort out the problems!

I cannot believe that anyone could even create an article with the headline "How Nelson Mandela brought Crime & Murder to South Africa"
I clearly understand the shocking incline of crime in South Africa, but to blame it on one of the most honourable men in the world is absoultely disgusting. His name does not deserve to be rubbed in the dirt like that - and this is coming from a "white".

THIS IS WHAT THE ANC-REGIME REALLY STANDS FOR:
South Africa’s UN votes are consistently against Human Rights
Nov 19 2007 Human Rights Watch, NY -- South Africa is abuzz after its Sunday Times, citing UN Watch analysis, published an exposé of the country’s negative voting record on human rights issues at the United Nations.
The story provoked a sharp government response directed at our organisation, UN Watch, and was covered throughout the South African media, as well as internationally.
http://www.unwatch.org/site/apps/nl/content2....
The Times story revealed how South Africa consistently votes at the UN with Cuba, Russia and Saudi Arabia, instead of standing in solidarity with human rights victims.
http://blog.unwatch.org/?p=57&tr=y&auid=32092...
However, the UN Watch report cited by the Times was actually released in May 2007 — and not last week as reported.
Our study, Dawn of A New Era?, measured all 47 members of the UN Human Rights Council based on 20 key votes.
(See pages 26-27 of the report, or 31-32 in your PDF viewer.)
http://www.unwatch.org/atf/cf/%7B6DEB65DA-BE5...
South Africa’s score lies at the bottom with a grade of minus 16, tied with countries like Cuba, Russia and Saudi Arabia.
The South African government’s response, see URL link below, suggests that they never read our report.
http://www.info.gov.za/speeches/2007/07111909...
They claim that our study only looked at one agenda item and was not “holistic.”
In fact, however, a quick glance at our report’s methodology, outlined in detail at its page 5, shows that it covered a broad range of key issues and agenda items.
To assess the Council’s performance, we focused on its most meaningful human rights actions, including resolutions and motions that were widely considered among HRC stakeholders to be important and were treated as such by members through their statements and actions.
(It should be noted that South Africa was also rated at the bottom in a more recent study by a separate non-governmental organization, the Democracy Coalition Project, which measured country support — or opposition — for credible and effective UN human rights mechanisms.
For South Africa’s ratings, see page 2 of that report here.)

Hi Justin,
It is interesting to see that you, a young South African who was "assimilated" and "well adjusted" to the NEW SOUTH AFRICA now lives overseas and that you see what is happening but the blacks you know deny all this.
In my book, Government by Deception (2001), which many people say is still very "current" - they say that reading it you'd think it was "written yesterday". In my book, I did my analysis of these people. I explained the logic of Mugabe and the ANC. In their paradigm, POWER FOREVER is the game. They claim to be democratic - but in reality - they are extremely insecure and they fear being voted out because they'd never be voted in again (which is probably true).
But that is no excuse. They're Totalitarians posing as Liberal Democrats. For these people POWER is the game. It does not matter how poor the country is, or how damaged it is, or how many blacks or whites DIE. All that matters is that they cling to power.
This cartoon below will explain it all to you. This is how Mugabe thinks and this is how the ANC thinks too.

And that is why this country will end up as a rotting burning hell hole.

I read this (and many other) articles about SA and it makes me so sad that i want to cry for my country, i have no idea what forces these people to do the things they do, SA has its own taliban, these terrorists just want to fight and hate, if you asked them why, they would proberly all give the same old answer that has been given for generation, ...'the white man stole from me' the white man gave black people in SA civilization, domestication, they taught them when they were tribes that you can't just kill and murder, ITS EDUCATION!!!!!!!!!! All black people in government are killing this country and then denying it - it makes me sick.
I'm not a racist person, i grew up in the 'new' SA and had MANY black friends, they would stay over my place for the weekend, we would even swop girls when we were in school, all i'm saying is that a group of black people are tearing the fabric from our country (the same people that mandela bred!!!), dont they understand that if they get things their way that it will be another zimbabwe!!!!!! HOW COULD ANY ONE WANT THAT KIND OF POVERTY!!!!! its RETARDED!!!!!!
i need a place to let my children grow up and if things are going this way, SA will be the last place i do, i'm in love with my mother country, but heart broken that we are letting this happen!!!!

What I have observed happening during the past 17 years is the following;
1. Illegal immigrants are allowed to walk our streets freely and even work without permits. I have personally pointed out illegal immigrants to SAPS members where nothing is done. The immigrant laughs at you in your face.
2. Less than 50% of all crimes are actually reported. Of that fewer than 35% gets convicted. Of all convictions fewer than ten percent actually gets sent to jail. In almost all cases there is NO restitution for families.
3. I have personally been involved in several incidents where conflict arise because of their lack of commitment and generally piss-poor quality of work. I have also taken quite a few of them to task because of their behaviour and attitude impacting negatively on my work. I got dismissed from one job for 'incompatibility' and reprimanded many times in my current job, while the other party literally laughs openly about his so-called victory.
4. Traffic violations and personal attacks are disregarded by the authoroties because they know that most of their families and friends would otherwise be behind bars. I was threatened with death the other day because I refused to let a taxi pass on my left on a two-lane road where there was another car directly to my left. He wanted to pass between me and the other car! When I reported the threat to SAPS the Inspector asked me if I want the case to be investigated. I said to him the fact that he has to ask me that question indicates how useless they actually are, and was then called a racist and threatened with arrest if I did not leave the police station immediately. A complaint to his superior netted me only frustration.
5. On several occasions security company employees have been caught in my area while busy breaking into a premises. On all occasions the matter never made it even to the perpetrator being officially charged. Once the guy told me that he was told to break in at that house by the security company owner and the owner of the house knew about it.
6. SAPS comes out faster for public disturbance and fighting than for actual crimes.
7. Redistribution of wealth is taking place whether we like it or not. We are paying taxes on money that has already been taxed a few times before. When you pay VAT, you are paying tax with money that you have already paid tax on. When you put fuel in your car, you are paying several kinds of taxes that never gets fully disclosed to you. More than 60% of the fuel price consists of tax.
In Joburg they now want to bring in property tax on the commercial value of your property. In other words, they want to tax you on your land AND buildings. So, you are going to put money into your house to make it look nice. Because you do that (with money you earned and already paid income tax on and paid VAT on when you bought the material), your property is going to be worth more, and so your property tax will be more. So it will be better to let your house go to ruin while you hide your money under the mattress. In the long run you should prefer to live in a shack while they live in your house it seems.
8. Did I get a free house from the previous government? NO! Did I have to go to they army to keep these suckers safe? YES! Did I have to help keep these barbarians from killing each other in 1976 and again in 1985? YES!
So all of the strategy of these fools consist of GIMME! GIMME! GIMME! They will never even consider giving anything in return.
They say that the country was built by blacks. Not so! If the white man did not have the money to fund his projects and to stand behind the idiot's ass to get him to do the work, he would still be wallowing in his hut, doing subsistance farming and killing his neighbour to get his shiny beads.
The myth that the ANC used during the so-called struggle, that the previous government gave the white people houses, cars, money or whatever is still being perpetrated as the truth.

Has anyone noticed yet how the murder statistics are placed high on the SA Police statistics - but the 'culpible homicide' stats are almost at the bottom of the list? What's the difference exactly? If you add up both statistics you get to more than 32,000 MURDERS A YEAR. the nomer 'Culpible homicide' is just sophistry, just like those amazing statistics referred to as 'economic crimes'. What the hell are those then?
The SAP statistics are designed to confuse, obfuscate, and outright lie to everybody.

The South African Police Services (SAPS) has released the April 2006 to March 2007 crime statistics today. From these figures, we can see that the following categories of crime have increased:
Murder by 2.4%

Car hijackings by 6%
Commercial crimes by 12.6%

I have a theory on this whole crime situation. First and foremost, the ANC are actually supporting criminals. It keeps the focus off their inability to run the country. The citizens of this country are constantly occupied with their own safety and security, it does not leave you with much time to see all the corruption around you. It's like a magicians slight of hand trick, draw their attention away from the actual maneuvering.
Secondly the ANC can boast that they build the new South African economy, all the goods that have been stolen have to be replaced by insurance companies. Don't even get me started on the price of a funeral.
Meanwhile back at the ranch, one of the biggest reasons for the economy growing after 1994, are the foreign companies waiting for economic sanctions to be dropped.
Sending out these death squads to kill our farmers will also speed up land restitution. After a farm attack, I think, the offspring of the farmers don't want the place were their parents where slaughtered.
And another thing, the ANC really don't want to supply the nation with ARV's. It costs plenty and the more people die the lower the jobless rate.
This whole democracy thing is definitely not for Afirca. Their culture has not yet evolved to the point where they understand the concept: AS JY KAK AAN JAAG, GAAN ONS IEMAND ANDERS KRY OM DIE JOB TE DOEN! But don't worry, the ANC will rule forever. Like Mugabe they will only buy their votes, increase social grants, give land away, tax the white man for their part in apartheid.
I don't know, maybe I'm right maybe I'm wrong. To date these are the only conclusions I can make.

Hi Bronwyn,
Thanks for that info. I had a similar experience in Zimbabwe. When I returned 6 years later the place had changed so much.
But you've been away from SA for longer so the changes may shock you.
I'm also going to post your comments as a separate article.
The stupid HomeComingRevolution have been trying to get people to return to this country with lies about how GREAT life is. What BULL!

I have been living in the States since 1994, when my Dad decided to get his family out of the once beautiful South Africa. I was just home in Jan 2007, and was shocked at the change in the country!! The way people just live with the crime was outrageous! (Just make sure you put your handbag on the floor to avoid a smash-n-grab, apparently people have had a minimum of 2 each!!) Not to mention all the other crimes. It was with great sadness I visited all my old haunts as a teenager!!
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?????
I always wondered what my life would've been like had we stayed, now I don't have to. I will always remember what it was like growing up ( I matriculated in 1990)the best years of my life!!!!! It's with great sadness and anger that I now view my once lovely country!!!!

Hi Jan,
In this article you say you don't have an explanation for the rape stats.
I think most people will agree that rape exploded in the 90's despite what the stats might say - (many cases not reported because of the shame associated with this crime as well as the indifferent treatment by police). What also happened was the disgusting tendency of rapists to target young children and even babies. This tendency only occurred after Mandela took over. You hardly ever heard of this before the ANC took control.
My take on this and I don't think anyone will convince me otherwise is this. Only after the ANC take over was porn freely shown on SABC channels, and this even occurred in the early evening tranmissions, where according to policy it was only supposed to be screened late at night after the children had gone to bed.
I have lived and worked amongst blacks all my life and have observed their reactions when a young female walks past. On occasions they almost go ape. I have had my observations confirmed by many of my friends who have noticed the same thing. Now this occurs without the influence of porn. Imagine the reaction and the thought processes of these people when subjected to porn as well, and remember just about every shanty around has a TV set. I'm sure their lack of self control, coupled with their natural tendencies, is the prime cause of the rapes taking place today. In this heightened state they will then grab the first available object to satisfy their needs, and this would also account for the rising stats for the rape of young children.
Once again the liberalist's policies have been the cause of much grief, but I doubt whether they will ever admit it.
regards,
Jimmy.

I am sure that the ANC see crime in a very diffefent way to the way we whites see it. The ANC policy is, was and always will be, is to re-distribute wealth from those who have it , to those who dont. BEE and Affirmative Action are Governments overt and legalised ways of enriching its more educated supporters, and allowing crime to grow, unchecked is the way in which the ANC re-distribute predominantly white wealth to its less commercially viable supporters. The blacks want everything, not some, or even most of, but absolutely everything. We have seen it in the rest of Africa, we are seeing it again. Whatsmore, when all of this theft, whether legal as in BEE and AA, or illegal as in crime, starts to produce declining GNP and per capita incomes, they will get even more destructive and confiscatory until they have taken it all, and every mine is simply a hole in the ground, and every farm is a piece of unproductive bush and the countryn is as it was when van Riebeek arrived. The blacks will be back in their natural state and possibly quite happy to be there.Only with the comming of the white man did black men have to begin working. Up until then bare subsistance farming, undertaken by the women, was all that was required.Men could the beer women made for them all day, and interrupted their leasure with occasional pillage and rape of the neighboring tribes. That was the life.
